I suggest that you first inquire either through the email provided or at a BIR office near you (call them or visit their office in person).

Regarding the civil service exam, it is a requirement that an applicant should have passed this exam or have a certification if you are an honor graduate. Any position in a government office needs this certification.

Opo, maari po kayong mag-apply kahit hindi kayo registered sa Manila. Siguraduhin lamang na mayroon kayong Civil Service Certificate at iba pang mga reguirements. Salamat!

Requirement kasi kapag gusto mong magtrabaho sa gobyerno ang Civil Service certification. Siguro ang marapat mong gawin ay maghintay na magkaroon nito at tsaka ka na lamang mag.apply ng trabaho sa BIR.

Anyway, that's good news. You are closer to being employed in BIR. Regarding the vacancy, I think that has expired. And as of this writing, there are no new job listing from the bureau.

Anyway, wala pong problema kung hindi kayo honor student. Pwede pa rin naman po kayong kumuha ng exam at magkaroon ng Civil Service Certificate. Yung sa edad, depende na lang po 'yon kung ang position na inaaplyan nyo ay may age requirement o limit.

Hi...nag apply po ako nung 2009 sa BIR Cebu, took written and computer exams in 2011 and had a panel interview in 2012....and then wala na di na cla tumawag. bakit po ganun katagal yung process? at di ba pag di natanggap dapat magpadala cla ng rejection letter?

Hindi ko po alam ang exact timeframe, pero sa tingin ko po medyo matagal2x din kasi may exam and then, if you pass that, a series of interviews pa..

As of this writing, hindi ako sigurado if acceptable ba ang TESDA-to-CSC cert. But you should either try asking the nearest CSC office in your area or the BIR procurement personnel if this is ok.

Let us know how it goes, so others who are in the same/similar situation can learn from you.

Hi po sir/madam, Iwould like to share my experience in regards po sa processing ng application sa BIR, I myself po ay nag apply sa BIR last August 2013, I took my pre employment exam last Sept 2, then they called me for my initial interview last Nov.25 2013 and my last interview on Nov. 29 2013. as of today po wla pang feedback from BIR if I passed the interview.

Last December 16, 2013 I was invited to take an exam dated January 9 of this year after which I was scheduled for an interview last January 15. Salary grade of a revenue officer I is 11, which is about 18,000+.

Unfortunately, I can't answer that question. Though my guess is siguro may Math kasi you'll be dealing with numbers at saka you might need to know how to use excel for financial reports and such.

I’m not sure about the exact schedule. However, according to this document listing the applicants who passed their latest exam [ftp://ftp.bir.gov.ph/webadmin1/pdf/list_of_passed_applicants_2014.pdf], they conducted a pre-employment exam on “on October 2013 to March 15, 2014”. But to be sure, please contact BIR.

Allow me to quote myself regarding the exam coverage:
“As to the exam coverage, my guess is you'll surely be tested with your skills in Math and your proficiency in using Excel, as you'll most probably be dealing with tax computations and creation of financial statements and such.”

As with any exam, be prepared—have extra pens, pencils, etc. If you are not familiar with the exam location, best to arrive there a day before to familiarize with the area. Also, make sure to come to the exam venue before the exam starts, say 30 minutes to an hour. Be dressed comfortably.

Hi! tanong ko lang if nghihire ba ang BIR for Revenue Officer 2 or 3 of even for Chief Revenue Officers kasi so far lahat for promotions. Tsaka, lets say nakapasok kana for Revenue Officer 1 but may 3 years experience kana, pwede bang mg.apply for promotion right after like for Revenue Officer 2?

Kaya siguro "for promotions" lahat ng listing for Revenue Officer 2 or 3 and Chief Revenue Officer kasi kailangan ng relevant experience (that is, ng pagiging Revenue Officer). Yun namang applying for Revenue Officer 2 promotion, if you meet the requirement in terms of experience atbp., then pwede.
